Cynthia Lummis for Congress

Statement

Cynthia Lummis for Congress

Welcome to my website!

"State your name and your home," the moderator recently asked at a panel in which I was participating. Each panelist responded on down the line, "I'm Bill from Phoenix, I'm Mary from Chicago."

When I was up for introduction I said, "I'm Cynthia and Wyoming is home." "Where in Wyoming is home?" the moderator asked. "Everywhere really," I responded. "Everywhere in Wyoming is home."

From water fights at the State Fair in Douglas, family vacations in Yellowstone in a little egg-shaped trailer, state high school basketball tournaments in Casper, dinner with Roy Rogers in Cheyenne (yes, Roy Rogers), fossil digs at Como Bluff, trona mine tours near Green River, snowmobiling at Fox Park, the sweat lodge near Riverton, fishing the Laramie River, breakfast at Jedadiah's, Chris Ledoux's last concert in Laramie, buying beautiful Shorthorns at Frannie, and bouncing around Weston County in Lauris' pickup....it's all home.

I love Wyoming!

Thanks for visiting this website, so you and I can share our ideas about Wyoming's future - what do we offer this great nation, and how can we keep Wyoming the wonderful place it is?

I look forward to this conversation. By election day, whoever wins Wyoming's Congressional seat will do a better job for Wyoming's people in Washington because of this conversation.

So saddle up, and Powder River, let'er buck.

Cynthia Believes

* Wyoming people have the answers that Washington needs to make America energy independent.

* The financial security of our citizens, young and old, is the backbone of our economy.

* Wyoming's balanced budget and savings accounts are models for Washington to follow.

* Good stewardship of our land, water and air is among the most precious gifts we can give to our children.

* Americans are still the world's great innovators. We must use that ingenuity to confront our nation's most pressing issues - now.

Cynthia's Top 6 Reasons for Running for Congress

1. Because I love Wyoming; our state and its people represent a uniquely wonderful corner of the world.

2. Because I am an idealist and an optimist; I think that public service can make a difference.

3. Because this is a challenging time, both here and abroad. Challenges, to me, are a call to service.

4. Because the Federal government has always had, and continues to have, a big influence on the shape of Wyoming's future; Wyoming's voice in Congress needs to be strong and authentic.

5. Because how we address the matters of energy, the environment, national security and the economy today, directly affects our children's future.

6. Because I listen, and will continue to listen, to Wyoming people in order to most effectively represent their interests in Washington.
