Craig Williams for Congress

Press Release

Date: March 10, 2008
Location: Drexel Hill, PA

Surrounded by his family, friends, and over 100 other supporters, Craig Williams officially opened his Congressional campaign office on Monday in Drexel Hill, Delaware County. Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter, as well many others were on hand to offer their support and endorsement for Craig, saying that he is exactly the type of public servant the 7th Congressional district needs. Most recently serving as an assistant United States Attorney, Craig Williams is also a highly decorated Marine Corps veteran who served our country for 21 years. During his time in the military, Craig flew 56 combat missions in Desert Storm, and he was decorated seven times for his actions in combat, including two times for individual acts of valor.

Craig will be taking on one-term incumbent Congressman Joe Sestak, who is not considered to be safe by any means in this historically Republican seat. Since taking office, Sestak has been under constant fire in the Delaware County media and from local elected officials for a number of issues including his lack of action on a proposed FAA flight plan imposition that would redirect flights over the County seat, as well as for his seemingly close alliance to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a controversial organization noted for its associations with foreign bodies who support terrorism. Sestak has also been mired by his less-than-positive attitude towards his own re-election in addition to an abnormally high staff turnover rate amid constant reports that he is "difficult" to work for, a criticism that has hounded him for years.

Knowing this, Craig Williams has pledged to be a true and honest advocate for the 7th District, focusing his efforts on strengthening our economy nationally and here at home by bringing new jobs into the Delaware Valley, and on real, honest healthcare reform. He also promises that his voting record will strictly reflect the perspectives and needs of his constituents, not the goals of a national agenda put forth by the Democrat Party machine in Washington.

Over the next ten months, Craig will be making his way around the district talking to voters and meeting new people. He is looking forward to this opportunity and he hopes that with all this talk about change, the voters in the 7th District will see where the change is needed most. Craig currently lives in Concord Township with his wife Jennifer and their children. To learn more about Craig, please visit his website at www.craigwilliamsforcongress.com.
