Dow Jones Passes 12,000 for First Time Ever

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) today, after the Dow Jones passed the 12,000 mark for the first time ever, released the following statement:

"The sustained economic numbers and today's historic mark prove that Republican economic policies have successfully helped deliver a strong and growing economy," Diaz-Balart said. "Real wages are up and we want this economy - the fastest growing economy of any industrialized nation - to continue to grow by continuing to keep taxes low on families and small businesses and emphasize the development of alternative energy sources.

"Democrats like Nancy Pelosi have voted for five-year tax increases that alone would fund nearly every government in the Western Hemisphere," Diaz-Balart continued. "That kind of wrong-headed, economy-killing policy sends shudders down American spines. Republicans want the American people to keep more of their hard-earned money, and as we can see, that is a successful and forward-thinking policy.
