Fellow Rhode Islanders:

Fellow Rhode Islanders:

Voters have a right to be angry. Washington has lost its way - consumed in controversy and corruption. Bipartisan cooperation is almost non-existent. Spending is out of control and politicians have the wrong priorities.

I'm running for the Senate because senior citizens have told me they are scared, confused and worse off under the new Medicare prescription drug plan.

Mothers are forced to buy body armor for their sons and daughters who are about to serve in Iraq, because our own military won't.

Politicians in Washington meet in the middle of the night to pass emergency legislation to intervene in the private tragedy of the Schiavo family, but they can't seem to do anything about the public tragedies facing so many of our families—the runaway cost of health care, the failings in our schools, the looting of worker pensions, the deepening of our environmental problems, America's continued dependence on foreign oil.

The President thinks the only answer to our economic problems is more tax breaks for the rich and the only answer to Social Security is to cut benefits for the middle class.

I'm running for the Senate because I'm angry too and very concerned about the direction of our country.

I don't have all the answers - no politician does. But when I get to the Senate, I will always use the Rhode Island values instilled in me to work for the right priorities that help the people who need it most. I won't ever be the tool of the special interests or the big corporations. I'll be your voice, fighting for your needs.

As I travel our state during the months before the November election, I hope you will join me at our community events, stop me on the sidewalk or use my website to share your thoughts and ideas with me.
