Statement: NSA Wire Tapping Program

STATEMENT: NSA WIRETAPPING PROGRAM

U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor's ruling today is the first step in the judicial process regarding the NSA wiretapping program. If this program were to be halted, it would hamper our ability to foil terrorist plots. It is a critical tool to prevent America from being attacked.

As I have said before, I believe that the President had the authority to undertake this program, but I also believe that it should now be authorized by Congress.
