A Message From Jim Bryson
Friends:
I'm Jim Bryson and I want to be your governor. As I begin this campaign, I want to be sure you know who I am and why I'm running for governor.
First of all, I'm a family man. My wife, Carol, is from Greeneville and we've been married for 15 years. We have been blessed with four beautiful children. We adopted Maria, Nadia and Nicholas from Russia in 1994 and were blessed with the birth of our son Alex two and a half years later.
Second, I'm a businessman. I own a market research firm that employs about 50 people. I started my company when I was 25 years old. I am a hands-on, engaged manager who has the leadership ability to put this state on solid financial footing.
I was elected to the state senate in 2002 with a clear mandate to protect our values and pocket book. I have worked hard over the last four years to do just that. I sponsored legislation to force spending restraint at the Capitol by capping growth in the budget. I also fought for a pro-life measure that uses private funds to provide help to women facing an unexpected pregnancy.
I'm running for Governor because the people of Tennessee deserve a clear choice. As Governor, I will reform state laws that make Tennessee a magnet for illegal immigration. I will focus on improving education and creating high-paying jobs for hard-working Tennesseans. I will also make sure state government does not create another healthcare crisis.
And make no mistake about it, there will be no state income tax in my administration.
The choice between myself and Governor Bredesen will be clear, and my campaign will outline, in a substantive way, the stark contrasts between the two of us.
We have our web site up, www.brysonforgovernor.com. Please check it often. Click the "Get Involved" button and let us know how we can work together.
Please note that we cannot begin accepting campaign contributions until May 15.
We will be seeing a lot of each other over the next several months. I look forward to staying in touch and would appreciate your support.
Thank you so much.
Jim
