Recognizing Judge Patrick M. Shepherd

BREAK IN TRANSCRIPT

Mr. CARTER of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Judge Patrick Shepherd for his recent appointment to the State Court of Spalding County, filling a vacancy created by Georgia State H.B. 798.

Previously, Judge Shepherd served as solicitor general of Spalding County, where he prosecuted misdemeanor cases in the Spalding County State Court.

Judge Shepherd was also a partner in the Shepherd Law Offices, where he practiced with his father. He represented clients in civil litigation, criminal defense, personal injury, and estate matters.

He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Georgia--go Dawgs--in 2005 and his juris doctorate from Mercer University School of Law in 2009.

Judge Shepherd is a lifelong resident of Spalding County with deep ties to the community through the Spalding County Bar Association, the First Baptist Church, and the Griffin Exchange Club.

Mr. Speaker, Judge Shepherd and his wife, Robin, have two daughters and live in Griffin, Georgia.
