"I have said time and time again that I am supportive of a national security supplemental that assists our allies abroad, such as Israel and Ukraine, as well as the national security challenges we face here at home. The border is one of those challenges. The supplemental text that Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer put forward for a vote today does not make any policy changes needed to tackle the crisis. It is for that reason that I could not vote to advance this legislation. I hope that today's failed cloture vote demonstrates my commitment, as well as the commitment of so many of my Republican colleagues, that we must address our broken border, along with support for Ukraine and Israel in this supplemental package."
