Womack Statement on Raid of Mar-a-Lago

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement on yesterday's FBI raid of former President Trump's private residence:

"This unprecedented action by the DOJ requires a full explanation of the circumstances that necessitated executing a search warrant at the private residence of a former President. Under no circumstance should political motives be involved. The basis must show clear and convincing proof a crime was committed and that evidence related to it was at risk of disappearing or being destroyed. The DOJ has a high bar to satisfy the American people that this raid was justified and not partisan weaponization. Right now, we have more questions than answers."

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas's Third Congressional District since 2011. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee.
