Johnson Announces Federal Grant to Help Curb Violent Crime in Caddo Parish

United States Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, today announced that the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office (CPDA) will receive $56,065 from the Department of Justice to improve the prosecution of violent crimes with forensic technology.

"In 2021, nearly every major American city saw a dramatic rise in violent crime and homicide, and unfortunately, Shreveport has also followed this trend," Johnson said. "It's essential that our local justice system has the tools to apprehend criminals and keep them off the streets. I'm grateful to the Department of Justice for investing in this new forensic technology, which will increase access to forensic data and expedite the process of apprehending violent criminals."
