Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) released the following statement after voting against legislation to raise the federal debt limit.
"American families actually have to balance their budgets--something folks in Washington seem to have forgotten how to do. Our national debt is a national disgrace and I refuse to lift the debt limit just so Speaker Pelosi can ram through her $3.5 trillion tax and spend plan that will hammer America's middle class. We simply cannot afford to saddle our children and grandchildren with mountains of debt to finance her socialist agenda."
