Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) on Friday voted to pass a bipartisan bill to restore basic protections against dangerous levels of methane emissions from the oil and gas industries.

"As the representative of South Carolina's First Congressional District, I have a responsibility to protect the Lowcountry from methane leaks, which devastate the health of both our residents and our environment," Mace said. "This bipartisan bill will prevent the reckless destruction of our beautiful communities by curbing methane leaks without burdening our nation's critical oil and gas industries. This bill is a commonsense step toward conserving South Carolina's pristine environment and I look forward to seeing the President sign this into law."
