U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement on President Biden releasing his climate agenda at a virtual summit with world leaders today:

"The President is unveiling a litany of unattainable goals founded on ideas from the Green New Deal and achieved by harming the American people while hoping the plan's obvious shortcomings will magically disappear. The United States can use the Paris Accord to its advantage if it uses that platform as a way to assert American leadership, but President Biden's proposal fails to do that, opting instead to pursue domestic policies which will cover our economy in red tape and avoid taking serious action against foreign nations like China whose emissions continue to skyrocket. His plan is dangerous and unworkable."

Earlier this year, Senator Cramer wrote an op-ed outlining how rejoining the Paris Climate Accord can be successful if the United States takes an America first approach. Read it here.
