WASHINGTON, DC -- Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446.
"These bills do nothing to put violent criminals behind bars and stop violent crime," said Graves. "Instead, Nancy Pelosi's gun grabmakes it harder for law-abiding gun owners to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights. By requiring every firearm transfer to go through a federally licensed dealer and allowing unlimited delays in processing background checks, this legislation tramples on our constitutional rights and sets the stage for a national gun owner database."
