Proclamation - School Board Recognition Month

WHEREAS, education is the foundation upon which we are building North Dakota's
future, and by investing in our schools and our youth, we are securing that future; and

WHEREAS, the competitiveness of North Dakota's economy depends greatly on the
quality of instruction offered in North Dakota's public schools; and

WHEREAS, 1,155 elected North Dakota school board members demonstrate their
dedication to public education, their communities and our youth through service on their
local school boards; and

WHEREAS, the actions and decisions of these committed men and women help shape the
education and future of our next generation of leaders.

NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim
January 2006, SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH in the state of North
Dakota.
