Maine must take aggressive measures to prevent the continued spread of this novel disease. Tests must be available, at no cost, to any individual who is suspected of having contracted the disease and there must be quality and fully supplied medical facilities in every community that can safely and effectively treat the individuals affected. It is also the responsibility of Maine legislators to make sure individuals and small business do not bear the full brunt of the financial fallout from this disease. Zero interest loans, tax credits and direct subsidies should be provided to the individuals and small businesses that have been forced to stop working to quell the spread of the virus.
