As a certified Georgia Peace Officer and a current county deputy sheriff, Steven has a unique vantage point when it comes to ensuring our state acts to keep law abiding Georgia residents safe from harm. With a district that has an international airport and harbor to its southern border and an eastern boarder that's comprised of the Atlantic Ocean; America's broken immigration system is locally significant to families, businesses and public safety personnel of this district . The federal government must do more to protect our borders, and crack down on those who enter our country illegally. As a state, we must do everything we can to support law enforcement upholding our nation's laws. This includes working with local, state, and federal officials to identify and deport illegal immigrants who have committed violent crimes, and stopping the formation of sanctuary cities. I am committed to finding solutions to the opioid and drug crisis facing our region by working with local civic organizations, healthcare professionals, law enforcement and rehabilitation facilities.
