Issue Position

I will always work with AARP and SENIOR AGENDA to ensure that older citizens have an advocate and strong voice at the State House.

We were able to pass the Livable Home Modification Grant Program which helps seniors to stay in their home. We voted to permanently restore the NO-FARE RIPTA bus passes for seniors and people with disabilities. Passed the Senior Savings Protection Act that requires the reporting of financial exploitation of persons who are 60 or have disabilities and increased funding for all senior centers and programs across the state for people 65+. The General Assembly passed a bill making it easier for homeowners to build onto their houses to provide space for relatives. We also passed several bills addressing Alzheimer's disease and elder abuse.
