Covid-19 is a dangerous and deadly disease. The US is the most affected country on earth due to the lack of leadership at the Federal level. Minnesotans are fortunate to have a Governor who follows the science and has instituted evidence based practices to combat its spread and limit its effect on society. Minnesotans deserve credit for following his lead and the guidance put out by the Minnesota Department of Health.

Thanks to all our healthcare workers for doing what they do best. Thanks to all those who are wearing masks and social distancing, you are keeping us safe. Thanks to all the businesses who are following the guidance for reopening on Covid-19. Without effective masking, social distancing, and cleaning measures, our economy and our schools cannot safely reopen.

I am all in on masking, hand washing, social distancing, avoiding crowds, funding the development of a vaccine, and addressing the underlying medical conditions that make people more susceptible to death from a Covid-19 infection. Covid-19 has highlighted the profound inequities in our society and provides a great opportunity to take bold action to create the "new normal" of a just and inclusive Minnesota that works for everyone.
