Child Care Shouldn't Cost More Than You Earn.
Quality child care is expensive. Most parents in Rochester have to work and their children need quality child care that supports healthy development and early learning. The rising cost of child care is not a new issue. New York State must do more to help mid and low-income families in Monroe County by increasing child care tax credits and subsidies. Moreover, working parents shouldn't have to worry about losing their child care benefits if they receive an incremental raise at work. Quality early care and education sets children on the right path to be successful when they start school and must be accessible for all families. Our future depends on it.
