Here's our reality: over 30% of Rochestarians live in poverty, over 50% are children. I was born into poverty in an Indian orphanage but this nation provided me the opportunity to get an education, start a family and now run for public office. By adopting UBI on a state level, we can guarantee monthly cash payments to raise the floor and eradicate poverty enabling each person to self-determine how more of our tax dollars are spent. I will fight for each and every person in our community to become a shareholder in a healthy and thriving upstate economy. The concept of UBI was advanced by former Democratic Presidential candidate Andrew Yang, who has endorsed Jeremy's 2020 campaign for the NYS Senate.
