Health care is not an economic issue. It is a moral issue. Our communities are deprived of basic medical care. We need more primary care doctors. We need more specialists, more access to quality care. We demand what every decent society in the world does for all its citizens: health care for all. We will co-sponsor the New York Health Act, support and introduce laws that establish prevention and treatment of sickle cell disease, and grow community initiatives that promote food access across our district where areas are deemed federally labeled food deserts. Whether you're working or not, people deserve available affordable quality care.
