Our community is severely overburdened with high and disproportionate property taxes. Everyone knows the system is broken - now we have to do something about it. I held a town hall just to hear from homeowners who are dealing with this and hold events every year to help people learn about programs they qualify for to save money.

This requires bigger policy change. That's why I introduced legislation to:

Provide a "circuit breaker" to ensure seniors and those on fixed incomes receive money back

Level the playing field between neighborhoods like ours and where the Mayor lives in Park Slope

Provide true transparency in our property tax system so people know how much city spending is increasing

Suspend all interest and late fees for the duration of the COVID emergency.
