Joy and her husband own guns, and they want to preserve their right to own a gun. However, easy access to guns has led to tragic outcomes for Kansans. There is a direct correlation between the loosening of gun policies over the past decade and the increase in death by suicide, domestic violence, and school shootings.
Joy is the leader who will:
Support proposals for common sense gun laws, including red flag laws, background checks, and waiting periods for purchasing guns.
Promote gun safety educational programs that include supplying gun locks to gun owners.
Invest in common sense security measures for schools (but never require teachers to carry a gun in the classroom).
