We must expand broadband in our rural communities. By not have access to internet, it puts many of our communities at a competitive disadvantage as it relates to job creation and in education. The COVID-19 pandemic showed us first-hand the vital need to expand broadband because no South Georgia student should be at a disadvantage to students in Atlanta. I commend the work of the Legislature and Governor in recent years to address this issue but we have a long way to go. I am ready to work with state and local leaders, the private sector, and our EMC's to expand rural broadband.
