From accidental injuries and deaths, to shootings in our streets, to suicides at home and deaths at the hands of police, gun-related incidents are far too high in our state. There is no question that weapons of war have no place in the hands of private individuals, and I support banning the sale, purchase, and transfer of certain assault-style weapons. I was awarded the Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction. I could not be more proud of this distinction as I continue to campaign against a Republican whose inconsistency in supporting responsible gun ownership legislation has cost our state significant progress.
