Housing is crucial to the survival, development, and stability of healthy families and communities. But for far too many families, renters, and retirees, affordable housing no longer exists. With about 30% of Colorado's citizens spending more than half their income on housing, the crisis we face is evident.
As Colorado continues to grow, demand for housing has skyrocketed state-wide, limiting the supply of affordable housing across the state, but especially here in the Denver metro area. We can not afford to let unmanaged growth push families out of their homes and communities.
We must tackle and solve this issue together so that families can keep living in the neighborhoods where they have roots and have grown up.
