Issue Position

I understand the sacrifices made by those who serve and protect us. I introduced "Connor's Law," a bill that increases the penalty for assault on law enforcement officers. The bill also increases the death benefit paid to the family of a fallen officer. "Connor's Law" was officially signed into law in October 2019.

I was also the primary sponsor of the "Move Over Law," a bill that was introduced in memory of Officer Jason Quick--an officer who was killed when a vehicle failed to move over from the lane closest to him. The law increases the penalty for drivers who fail to slow down or move over for emergency vehicles stopped beside the road
