Issue Position

Substance Use and Abuse. As an attorney, I see the harmful impact substance use and abuse has on an individual, family, and community. I've worked with many people who want to obtain sobriety and are ready to participate in treatment programs that have a proven track record. Unfortunately, very few people are able to access treatment because they do not have insurance, or they do not have the assets to pay privately. Like every other state facing the opioid crisis, we must fund treatment programs for those North Carolinians who want to tackle their addictions and live a life of sobriety.
