Our rapidly emerging tech industry is providing the innovation and leadership our country needs to remain the world's foremost technology economy in the 21st Century.

Utah is a national and international tech leader. Building off the successful model I created as a mayor, I am taking every opportunity in DC to shine a spotlight on the incredible things that are happening right here in Utah's tech sector.

As a member of the House Small Business Committee, I am a champion and advocate for the startup and technology communities. As a member of the House Natural Resources Committee, I am pushing legislation to close the urban-rural digital divide. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I am working to protect American businesses' intellectual property, patents, and trade secrets from being stolen by our foreign competitors. I'm also working with the Foreign Affairs committee to fix our nation's broken immigration and visa system, especially with respect to high-skilled immigration visas, which are critical to our technology sector.

It is inevitable that the federal government will become increasingly interested in regulating the technology industry. There is no greater threat to productivity, innovation, and a fair playing field than government overregulation. As a Congressman for Utah, I am committed to helping Utah's tech sector maintain the freedom to continue to succeed and lead.
