Three days after being sworn into Congress, we voted on and passed a sweeping tax reform bill. (And yes, I read all 400 pages.)
We can already see the effects of this legislation. Businesses are bringing jobs back to the United States. They are making investments in their employees in the form of bonuses and pay raises. Overall hiring is up and national unemployment is below 4% for the first time in decades. The economy is booming and markets are reaching historic highs. The lower tax rates are increasing economic activity, which will create higher tax revenue. The additional revenue can help us shrink the federal deficit.
