Those who live in rural Utah have a deep connection to the land. It is both their history and the future that they hope to leave to their children and grandchildren. Local leaders and their communities need to have the necessary tools to generate new economic opportunities.

As in every arena, those best suited to manage the land are the people closest to it. I am committed to ongoing dialogue and local input on these decisions, and in increasing the abilities of states to manage their own lands. I am confident that together, we can find answers that move past over-politicized and outdated land management systems and result in workable solutions that provide both access and protection to our beautiful lands.
