Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) issued the following statement as the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) officially takes effect:

"Today is the beginning of a new chapter of free, open trade with our nearest neighbors and closest economic allies. USMCA represents a win for Minnesota farmers, manufacturers and businesses that export over $7 billion in goods and services across our northern and southern borders." said Emmer. "I thank United States Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and the Trump Administration for their relentless work to update our trade agreements to level the playing field and foster greater economic growth with our trading partners. I was proud to attend the signing ceremony of this historic agreement and look forward to the benefits it will bring Minnesotans."
