Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

"The Supreme Court's decision to uphold the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program is a win for our communities, our economy, and our American values. This is an important victory, but until we codify these protections into law through the Dream and Promise Act, Dreamers will continue to lack the certainty of security they deserve," said Rep. Delgado.

In June 2019, Rep. Delgado voted to pass H.R. 6, the Dream and Promise Act which provides a pathway to citizenship for three groups of individuals: Dreamers, who entered the country as children and have fulfilled other requirements such as graduating from high school, getting a job, or joining the military; and those with Temporary Protected Status or Deferred Enforced Departure status, designations granted by the president to individuals living in specific countries with dangerously unsafe living conditions.
