Today, Rep. Ted Budd (NC-13) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 266, which included $321 billion in additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program, $60 billion for other small business disaster loans, $75 billion in new hospital funds, and a $25 billion boost to virus testing:
"Renewing the Paycheck Protection Program was a necessary step to provide additional lifelines to workers and job creators across the country. The pain of losing a job or being forced to lay someone off is something far too many of our fellow Americans are facing. Now that the PPP is back up and running, it's time to begin the process of reopening our country. The small businesses I speak with everyday certainly appreciate the federal support, but they would much rather go back to work. I urge Gov. Cooper to begin reopening."
