Date: Nov. 19, 2019
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced a trade agreement with South Korea regarding market access for U.S. rice. U.S. Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) issued the following statement:

"President Trump is following through on his commitment to support American farmers, evidenced by the administration's aggressive promotion of U.S. exports. This agreement with South Korea is yet another example of promises kept. Since Arkansas leads the country in rice production, I hope to see even more international markets open up to allow our industry to thrive. I thank Trade Representative Lighthizer and Agriculture Secretary Perdue for their dedication to American agriculture."
