Fischer statement on vote on President Trump's border emergency declaration

U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) released the following statement today after the Senate voted on a resolution disapproving of President Trump's border emergency declaration which directs funds to support a border wall:

"I voted against the disapproval resolution today because I believe the president has the legal authority to make this emergency declaration to secure our border."

Media note: None of the funds used for border wall construction directly impact military installations in Nebraska, including Offutt Air Force Base.
