Issue Position

The 99th district is extremely lucky to have some amazing educators. Unfortunately, for far too long they have been asked to do more with less. During my first two years as your state representative, I fought to increase per pupil funding and at-risk funding for our local schools. They are now receiving the highest level of funding in their history.

However, there is still work to be done. I have many friends and family members who are educators that aren't seeing it in their paycheck. The truth is pension and health care costs have been gobbling up our record funding levels. We need to continue to increase funding for our educators so they can get a much deserved raise.
