Genesee County was the birthplace of the American Middle Class. The struggles in Genesee County reflect the challenges that the Middle Class has been facing across the Country. In Michigan we need to build a better ladder to the Middle Class and put in some safety railings. We can start by investing more in our crumbling infrastructure. Investment in infrastructure not only provides good paying jobs to those building and maintaining it, it also improves the economy as a whole by facilitating private business investment. To help individuals achieve a better standard of living we need to improve the pathway to a skilled-trades education and eventually a job. We also need to make higher education more affordable for everyone who wishes to pursue a career that requires University training.
