22 veterans commit suicide each day. SB 196 recognizes the key role employment can play in mental health for veterans by providing a hiring preference for veterans in the private sector.

SJ 16 designates 2017-18 as the era of recognition and commemoration for military service in Montana, and in 2015, SJ 21 recognized the 70th anniversary of service of the 163rd Infantry Regiment in WWII.

SB 195 protects Montanans who are members of National Guards in other states from losing their jobs when they answered the call to serve.

Through HB 17 and HB 2 , Mary secured funding for home and community based services enabling veterans to age with dignity in their own homes. These efforts also provided support for their caregivers.
