Laws passed by Senator Lyons enable you to recycle old computer products free of charge. You will also find phosphorus free dishwasher detergent, BPA free water bottles, baby food and reusable food containers in your local stores. In 2014 Ginny sponsored and helped pass the toxic free kids program. Toxic chemicals can be restricted in children's products sold in Vermont. Even though the federal government acted Vermont will continue to lead. Labeling consumer products including those with GMOs is key for consumer public health decisions.

Ginny's leadership resulted in the FIRST IN THE NATION BAN on FRACKING. Toxic chemicals will not be used used to extract gas and will not contaminate Vermont Ground waters. Ginny's legislative work keeps Vermont's consumer products, water, air and land free of toxins. Vermont's fisheries, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, wetlands, agricultural soils, forests are supported by her strong environmental ethic. Ginny passed laws that keep mercury, lead, toxic plastic chemicals, oil, and other chemicals from polluting the landscape and harming people, plants and animals. Ginny's recent laws in this area include Phthalate, lead, mercury, BPA, toxic chemicals, and phosphorus removal from consumer products. In addition Senator Lyons sponsored and passed a comprehensive electronic waste and comprehensive recycling laws.
