Issue Position

I am opposed to raising taxes, particularly in light of healthcare mandates, which pushed middle income families to the edge of financial insecurity with sky-high deductibles. I also support eliminating the tax on groceries, which most other states have done. I like the idea of freezing property taxes for low- and moderate-income senior citizens, so that they are not forced out of homes they own simply because their homes have appreciated in value over the years. My view is that government can do more with less by eliminating waste. We also need to look to the private sector to provide services rather than asking the government to do more and more.
