Ensure that all Utahns have access to high-quality, affordable health care, improving ability to live full, productive lives and maximize individual potential for happiness and dignity
Seek prevention of new addictions to opioids by closing prescribing loop holes and improving provider-patient communications to minimize over-prescribing
Provide robust treatment and recovery resources for patients struggling with addiction, particularly seeking individualized care to maximize potential for success
Support policies that are more supportive of medicated recovery methods
Encourage the state of Utah to join the coalition of nearly thirty states, counties and cities (including Salt Lake County) in a class-action suit that will hold pharmaceutical companies responsible for their part in creating the opioid crisis
Improve protection and advocacy for Utahns with disabilities
Oppose any restrictions on the ability for filing complaints against businesses who limit accessibility
Increase funding for mental health counselors in public schools and improve mental health care resources for Utah students
