Issue Position: Air Quality

Press Release

Date: Jan. 1, 2018
Issues: Environment

Our population is forecasted to double over the next 36 years. Similar growth forecasts can be made for the particulate emissions that go into the air we breathe. Along the Wasatch Front, the three leading sources of air pollution are mobile vehicles (57%), area sources like homes and businesses (32%), and industrial sources (11%). While the tools we have available to address these challenges are limited, we can all do a little more. I will push for public education campaigns that encourage individual responsibility, and push for meaningful regulatory reforms that encourage industry to cut emissions while protecting their economic viability.
