Issue Position: Farming

While farming remains Maryland's number one industry, it is still very challenging. The farming industry requires hard work, and with fewer people entering and remaining in the industry, the burden on farmers has increased. Rural Marylanders are continually subjected to relentless pressures, from suburban expansion to over-regulation.

I support the right to farm and am committed to protect those that earn their living from the land.
I support expanding farmers' markets and exploring whether more local produce and meats can be sold to local grocery chains.
I will review current property tax and inheritance laws to ensure fairness for farmers and their suppliers.
Democrats need to re-commit their agenda to blue-collar workers. As a Democrat serving a rural population, I remain committed to serving the hard-working farmers in my district.
