Realizing government does not create jobs but can create a better climate for job growth, Rep. Scott has supported elimination of the statewide business property tax and other taxes and regulations placed on our businesses that businesses in other states and countries do not have. Such taxes and regulation put us at a competitive disadvantage.

In response to the business to business taxes adopted by previous Democrat majorities in the House and Senate and signed into law by Gov. Dayton, Republicans have made changes to help main street businesses. Those changes include exempting the first $100,000 of value for business property taxes in addition to repealing automatic percentage increases of this tax.

We have a hardworking and well-educated workforce and many innovative industries. We must get government out of the way as much as possible to maximize these assets.
