State spending is out of control, period. Its time to stop funding programs that have become more important than the people they were designed to help. It's time to tighten the belt on our spending and regain control of our budget. I'm positive that if we review our current budget, do away with items that are not essential, restore earmarked money to its rightful use, we will find ways to provide pay increases for our state employees and teachers, and reduce the tax burden on individuals and small businesses.

Do I support tax incentives for large businesses? Yes and no. As an individual citizen and small business owner, I have to say it frustrates me to see major companies enjoying the benefits of lower taxes while yours and mine either remain the same or increase. However, from an economic position, Oklahomans, especially in Dist. 86, would benefit greatly from the jobs created by more businesses making this area their home. I believe we have to be willing to make a few concessions to entice more businesses to establish their companies in the area. If we do not offer them an incentive to come here, rest assured our neighbor states will.
