Cory agrees with the Republican platform: taxation should be as equitable, simple and minimal as possible. Cory supports better utilization of all collected tax revenue and searching for ways to efficiently utilize current revenue.

During his first year in the House, Cory built a strong reputation for responsible tax policy with opposition to most tax increases or tax burden to Utahns. He opposed several pieces of legislation that would have increased tax burden on Utah citizens.

2018 will be a big year for tax policy. Cory believes the recent federal tax reform initiative was a much needed policy event that for the most part will be good for the people of Utah. Cory will be actively engaged in ensuring the federal tax reform law translates to positive tax reform here in Utah
