Issue Position: Health Care

I deeply believe all Vermont residents must have access to affordable health care. I do not see this as a privilege; I see it as a right. Owning a small art business has meant my family has had to purchase our own health insurance for many years. I know firsthand how unaffordable that has been and I am committed to working on reforming our health care system. If we are going to enjoy long and healthy lives, affordable preventative care must be accessible to everyone. As we have done with other human rights issues in the past, I believe Vermont can lead the country in universal health care access. I support the move to a single-payer health care system and I look forward to working with fellow legislators to come up with a plan to equitably finance universal health care for the people of Vermont.
