Issues: Elections

Voting is quintessential to our rights as citizens. As Assemblyman, Charles will support policies that will make voting easier. This includes:

Consolidating Federal and State primaries, this would save tax payers millions of dollars and incentivize more people to come out to vote

Allowing Early Voting, designating a system to permit voters to vote early, as done in other states. He will also support funding to cover the expenses that local governments may have with regard to this

Implementing No-Excuse Absentee Voting, which allows a person to vote absentee for any reason

Automatic Voter Registration when getting drivers license

Allowing 16 and 17 year olds to pre-register to vote

Expand language options at the polls to reflect New York's diverse population

Allow voters to change their party enrollment before election so they do not have to wait an exorbitant amount of time to vote in a primary
